Venus Transit/Mayan Tour – June 2012
Serpent Vision Quest IV - The Return of K’uKuulKaan: a ten-day journey to connect with the spiritual energy of the planet Venus, who is K’uKuulKaan. One of the most important Cosmic Events to occur in 2012 is the Venus Transit which is interpreted by the Maya as the return of K’uKuulKaan (Venus) our twin planet who is returning to support us (Earth) through to the end of the Mayan Calendar date of December 21, 2012.
K'uKuulKaan is the Feathered Serpent, the revered Maya MasterTeacher. Maya legend tell us the following:
K’uKuulKaan, when he stepped onto the Earth in the land of the Maya, was accompanied by 20 wise priests, who were to collaborate with him in his mission to teach the Sacred Knowledge.
K’uKuulKaan disembarked somewhere between the ancient Xicalango (in the State of Tabasco) and Chompotón ( in the State of Campeche) on the Gulf of Mexico, on the west side of the Yucatán Peninsula. It is said that he was dressed in a white tunic with little crosses embroidered on it.
K’uKuulKaan, when he presented himself at Chichen Itza was received there as the Great Teacher and High Priest of this Maya Ceremonial Center and University. Here, with great love and patience, he taught the Sciences, Arts, Philosophy, and Religion to the Maya. He also instructed them on the movements of the planets, the sun, and the solar and lunar eclipses. While at Chichen Itza, K’uKuulKaan also constructed a Pyramid dedicated to the Sacred Symbol of the Serpent – the Rattlesnake, which is associated with the Pleiades Constellation and its seven suns.
Completing his mission in the Cosmic University of Chichen Itza, he traveled to Mayapan (which means “the Flag of the Maya”) where he lived for a long time in perfect harmony with all the people, explaining to them the deep significance of the Laws of the Cosmos and the Laws of Nature. He organized and wrote the Moral Codes to follow, how to work the land, to respect the elders, to listen to the advice of the Grandfathers and Grandmothers, and to the Oral Traditions.
Finally the day arrived in which he took leave of his people, and leaving them in Peace and Harmony, he returned to his place or origin, to the same place he had come, as he had finished the mission for which he had come to this land. To remember his departure he built a pyramid in the sea, which looked towards Champotón.
From the book, “ La Relación de las Cosas de Yucatán” we take this interesting statement:
“That this K’uKuulKaan lived with the Lords some years in that city (Mayapan) and that he left them in great Peace and Friendship, took the same road to Mexico and in passing stopped in Champotón, and to remember him and his departure, constructed in the sea, a good building in stone in the style of Chichen Itza, and so, K’uKuulKaan left these lands in perfect harmony.”
We have taken the following information from the book called the “Vatican Codex”:
“It is said of Quetzalcoutl – K’uKuulKaan, he had come from a long journey, finally arriving at a place called Tlillan-Tlapallan (the red and black earth) which was found at the edge of the sea. So he put on his robe of sacred feathers, his mask of turquoise, and when he finished dressing, he set himself on fire, burned, and it is said that when he was burning his ashes rose very high and when the Lord Quetzalcoatl-K’uKuulKaan was finished burning, his heart rose to the Heavens and so the Elders said: he became a star, the brilliant Morning Star.”
From Venus Star Rising: A New Cosmology for the 21st Century by Arielle Guttman:
"For the Maya, the beginning of the Venus almanac in the Dresden Codex marked the first rising of the planet Venus. While there is no evidence that Venus' second transit of Gemini across the Sun in 2012 is specifically connected to the end of the Mayan calendar, it is one of many astronomical events set to occur at that time. In Galactic Alignment, John Major Jenkins explains the astronomical alignment that occurs in 2012 -- that of the winter solstice Sun aligning precisely with the Center of the Milky Way (the Galactic Center). The more visible and smaller event that simultaneously occurs in 2012 is the rare transit of Venus across the Sun, occurring at the anti-Galactic Center, six months prior, which could be an important marker. It seems reasonable that these transits of Venus were factored into the Long Count and influenced the Mayan awareness of time."
